Can no longer copy and paste images in updated firefox

After the latest Firefox updates, I can no longer copy and paste images from Twitter, Facebook, etc. When I copy and paste an image, I get a link to a temporary file instead so I either have to download the image first or take a screenshot. Is this a bug?

Hi eros143, if you are having a problem with images pasting as URLs, the fix is in Firefox 13. If you can't wait for the official release, you can install the beta version.

Firefox 13? I'm on Firefox 77.01. That reply is about eight years out of date

Hi jvache, where are you pasting to?

Does it work to paste in an image editor like Windows Paint? That would confirm that Firefox actually put the image data on the clipboard.

For pasting into web pages, Firefox is protective of clipboard access. The site where you're pasting needs specific script code to pull images off the clipboard (compared with the simplicity of getting text). Possibly Firefox changed the code needed, but it would be helpful to have a sample site to test on that is causing you problems.

Specifially, I've been having problems with Line, which is the most popular messanger app here in Thailand where I'm living. The images won't paste into Line, I get a link to a temporary file instead, but it will paste into Gmail and Microsoft Word, so apparently it's a problem with the Line application. It was working, however, up until a couple of updates ago.
