Dual Boot W7/Linux Mint, can't save Master Password on Mint, using Profile on NTFS

more options

In the process of moving from W7 to Linux Mint, my Thunderbird Profile etc. is on a NTFS partition of my second (hard) drive. Win7 and Mint have partitions on my first (SSD) drive. On W7 Thunderbird runs fine, with Master Password in use. When I start Mint and mount the NTFS partition, Thunderbird starts fine - the ini file in .thunderbird points to the NTFS profile, the latest mails are there and can be read, but attempts to create a master password result in the message "Password Change failed - unable to change Master Password". I've tried renaming files such as key4.db and logins.json but no useful effect was to be seen.

If you rename the pkcs11.txt file in the profile folder, while TB is closed, then restart the Mint TB, do you still get the error?

Thank you, this suggestion was totally helpful. T-Bird aked for my Master Pass Word at start up, reacted on Mint as on W7. Now I can log on Mint to read new mail! Cheers!
