Of the 8 email accounts that use Thunderbird, I have one that doesn't act correctly. I has deleted nearly all of the emails in the inbox. I didn't do anything to command it to take any delete action; it just arbitrarily does it. There is one picture that it leaves alone. Some of the messages are in the Deleted folder, others are in the Deleted Items folder. I haven't fiddled with any settings. It just started doing this on its own. The other 7 email addresses function normally. What changes do I need to make to get this address to stop deleting email messages unless I click the Delete button?

Still have a problem of Thunderbird moving emails from the Inbox to the folder Delete or Deleted Items with me clicking the Delete button or taking any action.

I meant to say "without" me taking any action.

Your description of the folders Deleted and Deleted items would indicate these are imap mail accounts. I suggest you familiarize yourself with the servers retention policies as mail in imap accounts is synchronized with the server mail box. So if the server keeps mail 30 days, then so does Thunderbird.

I have other email accounts that are IMAP with the same provider and they don't delete emails with out me clicking the delete button. So why does this one account do it? I has deleted some as far back as 2017 and left some others. There doesn't seem to be any pattern.
