Viewing pdf files
I have just downloaded Firefox 28. Everything works fine except that when viewing a pdf file on a website the font is distorted. This did not happen with the previous version, and does not happen if I open the same file on the same website user IE6.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
- Go to Tools > Options (or Firefox > Options).
- In the Options window, select the Applications tab.
- In the Search field, type PDF. You should find Portable Document Format (PDF).
- On the right handside you should find an Action column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose Preview in Firefox.

Use the Adobe Reader plugin to view or download PDF files .
Downloaded but already had that version installed an no difference to display.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
You can try the latest development version of the PDF Viewer (pdfjs) extension to see if that version still has this problem.
That sorted it - thanks
My version of this problem involves 2 machines both with FF v28 installed, and on both the FF options are set to the same values: in particular, application action for pdf content is set to open the content with the adobe acrobat reader X installed on each machine. On machine 1, selected pdf content on a website is downloaded and saved in the specified download folder, but not opened. On machine 2, selected pdf content on a website is downloaded, opened and displayed.
Why is this difference in performance occurring, and what can I do to machine 1 to have it perform the same way as machine 2 with the same settings?
