At the top of your screen should be two bars on the left your location bar on the right your search engine bar. Next to the little blue G in the search engine bar is a small arrow left click on the arrow select yahoo from the list left click on it.
I am not talking about the extra search window that has a list of search providers I am talking about my main address bar. When I search it is a Google search. I want it to be a Yahoo search... I think I found an add on to accomplish this. Default Search Engine 3.3 in the add on section of Mozilla. Default Search Engine 3.3 by JNF :)
Choose your search engine on FF4+. Customize the search engine used in your location bar.
Add to Firefox What do you think?
No, I did this I do not see any settings. When I went to my address bar it still is a google search.... Now what...?
Sorry I forgot, After left click on yahoo left click on magnifing glass in search engine box.
My questions is about the main address bar not the small one to the right with the magnifying glass.
MAKE YAHOO MY HOMEPAGE
From firefox startpage click tools > click Options > in the General tab's - home page entry box type - www.yahoo.com and click ok

Hello, see: Changing the search engine for the address bar
thank you
See the following article on setting the search engines
Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox
You can "Manage search engines", i.e. select Yahoo as your primary search engine.
No I do not think you understand my main address bar is being redirected to a Google search. Not a Yahoo Search. It has nothing to do with the small search window that has the magnifying glass. It is my "main address search bar"
Forget it.
done, only trying to help sorry if i was confusing
see make yahoo my homepage above
Try to change your home page and new tabs. If you're not sure how to do that, let me know.
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
You can modify the browser.search.defaultenginename pref on the about:config page
- browser.search.defaultenginename
Currently selected search engine:
- browser.search.selectedEngine
