This morning I noticed that on Firefox 17 if I open the Add-Ons tab to see my add-ons and extensions. All I get is a blank page. I also noticed that on the "About" page the "checking for updates" simply kept spinning and never finished.

I was sure I had Ad-Block installed, but when trying to install again it completed the download, but stalled at that point, waiting to ultimately finish.

I had to leave for work, so could not look at it further.

Please update to Firefox 18.0.1 and try again

When you first open the Addons Tab, select something other than Get Addons.

The Get Addons item loads information from the Addons Mozilla Org website, and if that server is over-loaded and running slow the information can take awhile to load, if it ever does load. IMHO, it is a crappy feature, which I block from even appearing in my Addons Tab.

Is this about the Firefox 17.0.2 ESR version because you are posting with the previous Firefox 10.0.12 ESR version?

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.

If this hasn't helped then also try to delete the addons.sqlite file.

It wasn't a case of any extensions being disabled, or the ability to delete any incompatible extensions, It's as I said, the pages for "Extensions" "Add-Ons" "Appearance" etc. merely showed blank pages.

When I got back home I updated FF to version 18, and everything was working right again.

Yes, my question was posted from a FF v10; that's what I presently have at work, and I am not allowed to update any files. The IT team tests and pushes file updates to all the machines. They're likely to roll out 18 to us soon from what I heard.

I have the same problem (in Add-ons Manager the page keeps on "loading") and Add Block does not work even after I downloaded again. Version 18.0.2, so what can I do about it please? I hate getting all those adverts!!!
