Like many people, I want to change the default download folder from the internal folder to the SD card. I've been through the steps given on various websites. I can apparently change the default folder to the appropriate /storage/ folder - but then when I try & download something nothing happens. I'm running Android 7.0

Hey there,

The only way to change the download directory in Firefox for Android is by altering the about:config page. Follow these steps to do it:

1. Navigate to about:config by typing it in your address bar.

2. Search for and change the value of browser.download.folderlist to 2.

3. Click the plus in the top-left corner of the about:config page to create a new preference. On the right side, change the type to a String; it most likely defaulted to Boolean. Enter the following information for each field:

Name: browser.download.dir Enter a String: This is the file path that you want Firefox to download to. For example, this might be /sdcard/firefox-downloads/

4. Hit create. Now attempt a download and see if it downloads to this folder.

Thanks Ballison, I've tried doing this multiple times, making sure I'm checking for rogue spaces and capitals, but the downloads either continue to go to the phone itself, or it doesn't seem to download anything - no error messages and no file anywhere I can find on my phone or sd card.
