Can't type in Firefox after PC wakes from sleep (Windows 8).

After waking from power-saving mode, Firefox will often be unresponsive to keystrokes, though other programs -- including Chrome -- work fine. To enter text, I have to type in Notepad (for example) and copy and past using the mouse.

Sometimes, c, v, and h (and possibly, others) don't work without pressing the Shift key.

One other interesting effect: Keys are unresponsive in the Metro Start Screen.

Rebooting usually fixes it.

Additional information: I had been running Firefox, Aurora, and Nightly, but uninstalled the latter two after some sort of melt-down.

Also did a clean install of Firefox.

Running Windows 8.

Thanks in advance.

It is possible that some of the status keys have the wrong state and Firefox sees them as still pressed.

Try to press all the status keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) a few times to see if that helps to recover from this.

Thank you for responding.

As noted, the keys work fine in other programs.

Interestingly, the same problem(s) popped up in Chrome today. Only Shutting Down (and not a simple Restart) corrected the problem.

Another update, just in case it helps someone else experiencing the same problem:

Using the Onscreen Keyboard has shown either the Ctrl, Alt, or Shift + Ctrl + Win + Alt keys stuck at various times.

Tried uninstalling SetPoint ... ineffective.

Tried moving the DiNovo Edge USB receiver from a USB hub to a USB port in the motherboard ... no difference.

Tried detaching the G700 mouse and T650 TouchPad ... didn't matter.

Now, I've removed the Logitech extensions from both Firefox and Chrome. Both browsers have been running for hours. The computer's entered and exited sleep several times.

So far, so good.

After several days without restarting, two incidents:

1) For a few moments yesterday, the Shift keys were stuck (as evidenced by the On-Screen Keyboard);

2) This evening, the keyboard will type neither in Firefox nor the Metro Start Screen (but it will type in the Search Charm); seems like Ctrl is stuck, but the On-Screen Keyboard doesn't show any problems.

Any ideas?

(Problem 1 didn't start until watching video at ABC.com; When I had to reboot for Problem 2, a Windows update installed.)

Firefox has been running since last night; this evening, the Alt keys were sticking (as indicated by the On-Screen Keyboard and flashing context menus).

After closing Firefox and turning off the DiNovo Edge for a few moments, the keys stopped sticking.

Any help, Mozilla?

Just tonight, no power-saving, both browsers running, and the backslash key wouldn't release.

Uninstalled SetPoint and rebooted; if that doesn't work, I'll try uninstalling Chrome and Firefox.

Power-saving back on, Firefox open for at least a day or two, File Explorer open; no problems until opening Zune and removing DiNovo Edge from stand.

Uninstalled Zune, Balanced Power-Saving. We'll see.

Uninstalled now Zune, Firefox, and iMon.

No problems in the last 24 hours.

Keys stuck again.

Now I've reinstalled Firefox.

After a Windows Update, no problems for a couple of days.
