Rearrange Bookmarks in Firefox for Android
I do not add Bookmarks in the Order that I wish to use them. Once I have bookmarked a page, I would like to be able to rearrange them. I do not understand why it is so hard to rearrange bookmarks in Firefox Android. I want to rearrange them myself, but the hoops I have to go thru are ridiculous. I have Dolphin and Chrome for android and all I have to do is pick Manage Bookmarks, press on the BookMark I want to move, and whalaaaa! I can move it. Firefox is my browser of choice, but this is driving me to Dolphin. If someone has a solution to this, I would appreciate knowing about it. I do not want to sync from my desktop, because I do not want all of the bookmarks that are on the desktop on my Android. Thanks!

Hi
This article will help you to organise bookmarks in Firefox for Android.
I hope that this helps, but if not, pleae come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
Seburo-- Your response was unhelpful to me (thanks, anyway). I do not want to create folders for my bookmarks. I'm OK with one long list of bookmarks (I don't keep all that many on my phone anyway, just a couple dozen) but I want to scoot them around so that general topics are together (sports, news, etc) and that the less frequent ones are near the bottom. Folders is not the answer.
I have been waiting YEARS for Mozilla to fix this but they can't seem to manage this relatively simple task.
Sorry, I just saw this reply. I am with Cicy Dave. I just want to be able to rearrange my bookmarks as they're added. Why is that so hard? I can do it on my Desktop Version of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Dolphin for Android.
Please Firefox Developers: Include a fix so that Bookmarks can easily be rearranged. I have once again moved to using Dolphin on my android devices because I can rearrange my bookmarks more easily.
Thanks for listening!
Hi
Thank you for the clarification, I will pass this feedback to our developers.
Thank you! I look forward to a solution to a simple issue. I think I more clearly explained the situation in my post of 10-22-18, but if you need any further info from me, I am happy to respond.
With all due respect Seburo, I and others have pointed out this flaw long ago (perhaps as early as 2016, though I'm not going to look back in my records to verify). This should not be news to the developers at Mozilla.
As such, I am going to take kathyjoe5's backdoor 'suggestion' and migrate over to Dolphin for use on my Android phone. I'm tired of waiting. When Mozilla figures this out, please let me know and I will go back to Firefox for Android.
I figured out a work-around! If you still use a desktop or laptop make sure you have Firefox sync enabled on it and on the mobile device, perform a sync on both. On the computer with Firefox open go to Bookmarks and show all bookmarks. Open the Mobile bookmarks folder and then click and hold to rearrange the bookmarks. Afterward, perform a sync on the mobile device. I just rearranged mine!

Thanks for the input, but I use different bookmarks on my mobile device. Would be so much simpler just to be able to maneuver them on that device.
I have stopped using Firefox for Android because it is not as user friendly as Firefox for Desktop. Maybe some day!
Thanks again.
Hi
Thank you for your comments.
I fully appreciate the funcationality that people are looking for and I am sorry that it is currently not part of Firefox for Android. This is something that is being looked into and will hopefully be part of a future release.
