So this just suddenly happened a few days ago. While listening to some podcasts on "download" mode, as I usually like to do, after like maybe 3 minutes of listening, I get a "connection reset". Basically the podcast either refuses to load up fully, or takes forever to do so, and as it reached the end of the "buffered" audio, it crashed. PREVIOUSLY, it would just play from start to finish without a hitch.

I don't know what caused this. The only thing that I could think of that happened in between was me updating Firefox. And along with that error, I'm faced with some buggy tablet function that was NOT present before the update. Some scrollbars refused to react when I used the tablet, and only would work if I use a mouse or the laptop's touchpad.

It's not the website's fault. I opened the same podcast on Chrome and it works. Network is 100% fine. What went wrong?

Please update to current version 59.0.2 for fixes. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

If a after a restart of Firefox after updating to 59.0.2 still issues please try : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected
