Thunderbird NOT working!
I have been using Thunderbird as my main “E-mail” since February 16, 2012, with two ‘addresses’:
1: [email protected] & 2: [email protected]
A year ago, on October 20, the “sbcglobal.net” address simply quit and I have not been able to get it back. Thunderbird gave me some “failure” messages, but, I did not save them.
This last Monday, the same thing happened with the “reagan.com” and now, I have no way to do E-mail with Thunderbird. Here are the messages you sent me:
“Sending of the message failed.
An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.reagan.com is unknown. The server may be incorrectly configured. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.”
&
“Sending of the message failed. Unable to communicate securely with peer: requested domain name does not match the server’s certificate. The configuration related to secure.reagan.com must be corrected.”
I have NO idea how to correct this situation and would appreciate some help from you ‘professionals’!

For the SBC account, create a secure mail key on the AT&T site, remove the password from Saved Passwords in TB Preferences or Options, restart TB, enter the key when asked for a password.

For the Reagan account, use the secure settings from here:

secure.emailsrvr.com on 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP) for incoming, port 465 for outgoing (SMTP) ; SSL/TLS security, authentication = normal password, User Name = email address.
