DRM content is unplayable
Upon going to a site with DRM based content, I am prompted with the error "Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page. Please try again later." I have tried everything I could come up with to fix the issue including turning off and on "play DRM-controlled content," running Firefox without add-ons, and uninstalling and reinstalling, yet the issue persists. Please let me know of any other fixes.

Not sure what you're asking. See if this article helps.
You can open the Browser Console to be able to check for GMP and Widevine related XHR messages.
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Tools/Browser_Console
If you toggle DRM 'off' and then 'on' again then this should initiate a XHR request to download and install the Widevine plugin, so you can check for issues.
We have seen cases where this update check is blocked by the Windows hosts file.
Thank you for the reply, I have checked the console and there is indeed a GMP error: 1607542495647 Toolkit.GMP ERROR GMPInstallManager.simpleCheckAndInstall Could not check for addons: {"status":"failed","results":[{"id":"gmp-widevinecdm","result":"failed"}]}
As stated in the OP, I have already tried toggling DRM off and on again, but this does not initiate a download.
Upon clicking the widevine link provided, I am getting the error "We can’t connect to the server at redirector.gvt1.com."

Like I wrote above, in the past we have seen cases where access to the "redirector.gvt1.com" server was blocked via the Windows hosts file, so check that file to be sure. It is also possible that security software is blocking access.
