Help! I need to know what steps to take to recover all of my Firefox browser tabs from 09Jan2025. My mouse f-d up and erratically closed Firefox and when I opened it again all of my tabs were missing.

I was in Firefox tonight and everything was fine. At some point I went to save a bookmark and noticed that all my bookmarks had disappeared. I also lost my bookmark toolbar and my customized Firefox homepage. I have no idea what happened, but I tried doing some troubleshooting.

I tried to restore bookmarks from January 6th and a message came up saying 'unable to process back up file'. So I tried using a back up copy of my bookmarks from late December 2024. Nothing happened, no import happened. I have 4,400+ bookmarks that I cannot access.

I also tried the option to 'recover user data missing after Firefox update using the about:profiles. But that also didn't give me back the missing bookmarks/bookmark toolbar, plus that option also removed my extensions.

Whatever happened, those items were destroyed, removed or deleted. I need help to get those bookmarks back, because all my financial, medical links, etc. are stored in bookmarks.

I am in desperate need of help to get those 4,400+ bookmarks back, plus my customized homepage.

Please provide any help you can to resolve this serious issue. Thanks!

I had a issue with my Dell laptop, when it was resolved It had deleted Firefox. They created a new one, but the bookmarks are gone. I have looked at the information on recovering Bookmarks, but still cannot recover my bookmarks.

Can I get help on this issue?

I had to do a hard restart to my PC and now I have lost all of my bookmarks. I have gone to the retorse and backup sections to try that and it is not working. For some reason it is only pulling up really old bookmarks for someone that used this computer before me. Why is this and is there anyway I can get my bookmarks back?

Please, can you help me sync my account from my old computer to my new one? Since I forgot the password when logging in to the account of the new computer, I reset it without recovery keys and now I don't have any of the data from my account, and the old computer cannot be started because it is badly damaged! Can you recover the data from my Mozilla account (history, notes, etc.).

i had a snuffleupigus mess with my hard drive during an upgrade, and had to install a new drive. i still can access my original drive, just not boot from it. this means with my new install i cannot open firefox to back up my old book marks but can find the book mark file. how can i restore these bookmarks using the actual file? no it's not an html file as far as i can tell. i wound up upgrading from win 10 to win 11 so the versions are slightly different

I turn on my old laptop. After update(about 07.23) I lost my bookmarks. Now I tried to do what you wrote me with profiles, but there is no profile with my bookmarks. What I can do now??

I log in to my account on new computer and all my data is gone. All password tabs etc. I've been switching devices with firefox for like 8 years, but it's first time when i have situation like this. Can you help me?

i asked this already but no answer. I have two recovery keys, how can i check which is the one set for my preferred installation of Firefox. One was for my en-CA install, the other for an en-US install made a week later due to an update glitch. I had to use my en-CA recovery key to recover my settings to the en-US install, which then made a new recovery key.

I want to get rid of the spurious en-US install. -en-CA is in it's original location c:\program files\mozilla firefox

-en-US is in "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" the directory trees appear the same except en-CA has a locale.ini file that the other does not.

Does the original recovery key STILL apply to the -en-CA install or has the -en-US install's key replaced it.

And can I delete the -en-US folder with consequences?

I have been using Firefox for many years, but I encountered a problem several months ago. I searched the same window a lot, then closed it. Since then, I have not found anything. It’s impossible to get rid of it and the more I try, the more backups of this window are made on my icon in the taskbar. I currently have 12 displayed with 46 tabs for each one. Can you tell me how to delete them? I thought about uninstalling Firefox, but that would mean losing both my bookmarks and saved passwords. i have used Firefox for over 10 years. i just recently updated my Firefox app on my Macbook after i deleted my Mozilla files. will i be able to recover my extensive Bookmarks?
