How to make Mozilla compatible on my desk top?
Mozilla Firefox is the only browser I use. The last 3 weeks it will not open at all. When I look into this, my computer states it's incompatible to use an earlier version of windows. I do not have an earlier version of windows on my computer. If I do, have no idea how to get to it. Bought this computer in October 2010, new and it came with Windows 7. Luckily, it is working this afternoon but tonight it may not open again.

Interesting message. Where did you see it, in an error dialog, or in the system Application log, or somewhere else?
If you right-click the Firefox program shortcut (icon) on your desktop, and open the Properties dialog, you will find a Compatibility tab with a "Compatibility mode" settings that lets you instruct Windows to modify the interface it presents to Firefox to emulate an earlier version of Windows. Usually that isn't a good idea; Firefox usually works best with this tab blank (no modifications selected).
Thank you for your reply, however I have done that several times. That is when is prompts me to allow it to run in an earlier version. What earlier version? Yesterday morning (4/16/14) I did "reset" Mozilla, however to no avail.
I don't read everything here, but I can't say I've seen Windows object that way before.
In case your Firefox program files have become corrupted somehow, you may also want to replace them. The following method does not involve uninstalling Firefox, just hiding the existing program folder and re-running the installer.
(1) Download a fresh installer from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
(2) Exit out of Firefox.
(3) Rename the folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
(4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Any improvement in behavior?
Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\Plugins
- C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\browser\plugins
Thank You! I followed your instructions, so far so good. I'm not going to "Mark as Resolved" for a couple of days to see what happens. Thanks again for your help!
