How do I get back some Local Folders that disappeared in Thunderbird.
My emails are still present and reference the previously created folders as the location, but folders don't show up in the left side directory structure of the thunderbird application. I use windows defender, and no files are quarantined. Am running Windows 10. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Chris. I tried the above to create a new folder, but is said it already existed. I poked around in my profile folder, and found the .msf index files and mail files in my inbox folder. I copied them to the pop-server folder and the folders re-appeared on the left of the thunderbird application directory structure. They must of gotten re-arranged when I had a thunderbird update.
Thanks again for responding.

lol no offence but there's ya problem Windows 10. i'm linux, windows 95-8. only i will not do 10. to many issues occurred and many complaints on the system still flood in. only option i see to fix this is possibly make another windows account locally to see if it resolves the issues if it did not them possibly look in to the setting you have set.
Not much help there as I don't plan on migrating from Windows 10. It's fortunate for you that you can live in the past...
lol the past oh no linux is what a lot has changed to hun, but good luck as most have made changes from 10 to or has reverted back to tthe proper os of likes its not living in the past windows is a past thing, linux users like the privacy and protection windows don't fully offer and can expected reinstall of apps with the permissions they have choice in doing windows dont let you have your freedom. but again good luck. all i did was try to help i didn't need a child like reply.

Hi Bill, Restoring a single folder is really easy.
- Create sub-folders in the Local Folders account with the same name as the folder you want to import.
- Go to [=] > Help > Troubleshooting Information, then click on Open Folder and close Thunderbird. That will open your profile folder.
- In your profile, go to the \Mail\ folder, then the \Local Folders\ folder.
- There should be files for the folder you want to import that you created in step 1. In this step replace the those files with the ones from your backup. They should have the same names.
- Open Thunderbird. In your Local Folders account, you should see folder from your backup. At that point, you can drag and drop the messages between folders within Thunderbird.
