When I opened Thunderbird this AM, an update was loading. On completion, it opened and showed 4 messages in the inbox, but none of them were showing. I also had messages in Trash and other folders, mostly from yesterday. Each folder showed messages but none could be viewed. I closed Thunderbird and reopened itt, but no change. It now shows 10 messages in the inbox.

I'm guessing this had something to do with the update. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.

I have recently had to have my computer operating system restored. I have a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit machine. My broadband provider is Grande Communications whose new name is Astound. Anyway, I cannot get my account ([email protected]) to send or receive emails once I reloaded Thunderbird onto my machine. It is frustrating as the dickens as IMAP Server and SMPT Server both tell me that the certificate is not valid for my address/provider. I have put in the correct ports for both servers according to the information provided by Astound for users in Texas (I live in Austin). I suspect that my provider is the source of this situation but I am bound and determined to find a solution as I have used Firefox and Thunderbird for a good while.

It seems like I have had similar problems connecting to GrandeCommunications in the past. I can confirm security exemptions and check the box for Thunderbird to remember this confirmation. I must have figured it out at one point as I was using these programs till my machine bluescreened.

Thanks for any help and guidance you could pass on to me. I can check for your response via Webmail...

I am trying to link my school, (Google Workspace) email to my Thunderbird client, but I am running into issues. I did a little bit of light digging, and then found the settings to enable IMAP and POP3 in gmail. I tried it again, but no dice. I did some more digging, and found a post by google about deprecating support for "Insecure" methods of login that use a username & password. They recommend that I find a "Sign in with google" button instead. I am pretty sure that Thunderbird doesn't use traditional google-session tokens. Is there another way to link my account? Or am I mistaken?

I have 7 email accounts. Compacting only fails with one account. I can compress the sub folders of this email account. But compacting fails with top email account fails with the following message:

The folder email@gmx,de could not be compacted because writing to the folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again.

There is a note at the bottom of the email that says: A unique identity matching the From address was not found. The message will be sent using the current From field and setting from identity Vince Hunter < [email protected]> Can you give me instructions in laymans terms to fix this bug and return it back to the way it was?

as in newer messages are being displayed at the bottom of the list. Is there anyway of inverting or reversing this?

Hi, Although Tools > Export, allows the for the export of 'everything' it would be incredibly helpfull if it could just have an export option(s) with a / a selection of Account and configuration details, not just 'everything', all emails etc. This would greatly help with setting up new users / machine upgrates and transfers etc, even with backing up account details / configurations etc. PLease consider.

Archiving to a Synology NAS ( network drive ) constantly reverts back to non network drive

Even though the NAS drive is completely accessible under my Ubuntu installation and accessible in the file explorer, T-B constantly loses the settings if anything happens out of the ordinary. If theres any delay in the connection to the archived directory, T-B defaults back to a non network drive. Lately the T-B program simply refuses to use the network drive directory I select in it's own browser window directory window. All my Email from 2015 is there in archived directories, T-B refuses to load the local directory that has been in this location for almost a decade.

I can access this NAS from anywhere on my network including this Ubuntu desktop however T-B refuses to recognize the local directory.

Whats wrong with T-B lately?

THREADS, the display tacks a new email onto a recent thread-related or not. I did not ask for this and would like to remove it. Seems that since the People behind TB have now left us to the 'community' We are not impressed.

dear all, thunderbird corrupted on my 2nd laptop. So I installed tb 128.5.2esr (64) new on this laptop. I Installed t-online accounts for 2 users -> all ok. tried to install web.de accounts for 2 users -> fail with both. I used the same settings as in 1st laptop. When I test the web.de account, I get the message, that the email account can not be identified. I activated thiss account anyway:@ I am able to send a message from klsgbkweb.de to [email protected] and receive it on my 1st laptop. Then the password should not be the problem. On my defect account on 2nd laptop there is however the inbox missing. I receive no emails at all. The same problem with my other web.de email account. I compaired the account setting several times and see no differences. I am lost and have no further clue. All are IMAP accounts: - imap.web.de : 993 - SSL/TLS - smtp.web.de : 587 - STARTTLS Do you have any idea, what else to check / to do? Thx
