suddenly I can't delete emails. read support article but cannot find "profile folder"

Click the menu button with three bars

Hover the mouse cursor over Help

Select Troubleshooting Information

In the Troubleshooting Information window, click the button provided for opening the profile. I have outlined it in red in the attached image.

The wording used in yours may differ slightly; my picture is from a Linux system.
