In the most recent version of Firefox (I have 91.0.2 64-bit), and perhaps a prior version or so, the backspace key does not work to go back to the prior URL, and keys do not repeat -- that is, if I hold down an arrow key, the cursor moves one space but no further. I'm wondering if these are bugs or if the problems are unique to my computer. I don't see the same issues in Chrome or Edge. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, Build 19043.1165 on an Intel Core i7.

Hi,

to prevent user data loss when filling out forms, we’ve disabled the Backspace key as a navigation shortcut for the back navigation button. To re-enable the Backspace keyboard shortcut, you can change the about:config preference browser.backspace_action to 0. You can also use the recommended Alt + Left arrow (Command + Left arrow on Mac) shortcut instead.

WARNING: Changing preferences through this interface not officially supported Hidden settings edited using the about:config tool are explicitly not supported, which means that Mozilla makes no guarantees they will be supported in the future, or that Mozilla will fix them if they break. Mozilla does not test these preferences, and will not in the future. That includes security and performance testing which these preferences may affect.
