Cannot open the COMMENTS section on Politico wetsite.
Firefox 56.0.2 32bit. I have searched the site and found similar problems, but no solution for this one. At the bottom of Politico website articles is a COMMENT section with a COMMENTS button to click on to enter the comments where you can interact with others. When I click the button in Firefox nothing happens. I tried it on IE and it works fine. I tried it in safe mode on Firefox and it still fails. I believe this is a Java function not working. Anyone already shoot a problem like this in the latest Firefox (or maybe past 2 releases)?

Well, I don't quite understand it, but I just disabled two ad blockers and it fixed the problem, else there was some coincidence that fixed it. I had disabled them before, early on as a source of suspicion, then tried turning off all addons and nothing worked. I think I'll live this way until Nov 14. Thanks all who helped.

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. Running blind because of no information : You have ad-blockers on ? If so turn them off or allow them for the comments.
Your going to have to supply a list of Extensions please and what ever else you can think of that will help us figure this out with no info.
Note : Firefox 56.0.2 is current release https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Full Version Installer Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
The comments are hosted by Facebook, and it seems I have to allow trackers before they will load. In case you use Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, see whether making an exception works for you. More info in this article: What happened to Tracking Protection?.
Sounds logical and related, however, there is no shield on my address bar. I just want to get that out there before I go chasing a wild goose. Still reading and I will see if I can turn off tracking for "and individual site" to circumvent the problem.
Well, not having that shield on the address line makes it impossible to follow the instructions to turn off tracking for a site.
I unchecked "Use tracking protection in private browsing..." option and cycled Firefox to no avail, so I don't know. Shouldn't that have fixed it if it was tracking related?

I think you missed the part about bringing up Firefox in safe mode and having the same problem. If you could link me to somewhere I could read about sending pertinent info into Mozilla it would be helpful. Thanks.

As a final note, I was using Adblock Plus and recently installed Adblocker Ultimate to try. Both of these, individually, play a part in not being able to click on COMMENTS at Politico. It happens with either one. It DID NOT used to happen in earlier versions of Firefox. Can anyone speak to why Adblockers are playing a part in this problem now? Is this going to be fixed?

Ad blocking extensions use lists of ad servers. Perhaps the list changed recently??
