Can't disable "restore session" despite following the instructions.

I newly run Firefox 4 on my XP desktop. When I reboot and go to Firefox 4 I now get a "Restore Session" option. This has opened my email address to others. I have tried[ from Privacy Settings ]:- "about:config" > "here be dragons" > and have set this "browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash;false", however even after a reboot "Session Restore" is on the screen. How do I get rid of this very worrying option? Thank you.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

If you set a different Homepage, that Restore Previous Session won't be on the new Homepage. It will still be available from the History menu, so if you don't want your web mail page to be displayed as part of the previous session, don't close Firefox with that page open and it won't be saved as part of the previous session.

This is the "Startpage" that was used in earlier versions of Firefox, you could set that as your new Homepage.
