why are we being forced to have maps galaxy?
On my work computer I do not have the freedom to add anything that requires the administrator's permission. With out the maps galaxy plug in, I can't get any information about directions. I downloaded the plug- in on my home computer and installed it and when I tried to get directions I still got a prompt to download the plug in and NO maps or directions. What is the use of having it?

Why do you want to use Maps Galaxy? I think that often is part of a bundle of junk that you do not want on your system. I suggest removing it.
Could you try using a well-respected map site to get your directions, such as Google, Bing, Mapquest, or OpenStreetMap instead?
Good point. I don't want it, and I managed to delete it from my laptop. The problem is that the message pops up even when I try to go to google maps.
Could you check whether it is anywhere in your add-ons? Open Firefox's Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions. Bear in mind that all extensions are optional.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
Thanks for your answer.
