per default firefox should only warn you & demand an opt-in for the execution of plugin content, when the plugin is outdated or vulnerable.

My flash and everything is up to date. This is not the problem. This nag seems to be happening because I use a flash block add on extension for my browser. ( Flash Block 3.00.13 by Henry Perez Native Flash Block for Firefox)

I would like to mention that even if my flash was not up to date (Flash seems to go "Out of date" every few days.) I would still be looking for a way to disable this nag.

Yes, click to play is on because if I turn it off it disables my flash blocker. The goal is to have a flash block with no nag. I'm starting to think this is no longer possible unless I somehow get a previous version of Firefox. Just to be clear, I went to adobe and downloaded the most recent version of flash available, I went through many of the "plugin.something.whatever" items in About:config and I still get the nag every time I get on a page where there is flash.

I finally found a way to get rid of this nag. The trick is to install a version of Firefox that does not have this nag. (I used Firefox 17)

I have this problem as well.

I enabled click to play as a replacement for the extension Flashblock. It's a good substitute, but not if it bothers me with its little popup all the time.

The number of times I want to activate all plugins is far lower than the number of times the activate plugins popup is shown to me. That's why I want to see the activate plugins menu only when I request it (by clicking the blue "lego piece" in the url bar).

There are two easy ways the developers could solve this problem:

1. Put an option on the activate plugins menu that says "Don't show this automatically". This is the better option if you believe that most users want to see the popup every time (I doubt that is the case).

2. Teach users how to access the activate plugins menu, but never show it automatically. Show a little notification bubble pointing to the blue "lego piece" that says "Click here to activate plugins". The bubble stops showing after the user clicks its close button. I prefer this option.

according to some information out there the "doorhanger" should only pop-up in cases there is non-visible plugin content on the page (that cannot be activated by clicking into the area of plugin content).

it behaves somewhat unreliably for me too however and i'd also prefer an option to never show the panel by default...

I am done with updating Flash. I'd like to get rid of it completely. I am 100% certain I do not want to update it ever again. Because the updates never end. I don't want to be annoyed constantly. I want to enjoy my browser experienced. I can do without video completely. I feel it is being used to stuff unwanted information in my face, and the update notifications are not acceptable. Steve Jobs was right about Flash. It needs to be killed, dead, permanently.
