Firefox should make secure connections by default. Although the little site information panel combines permission and security information, these actually are quite separate in the product, so you probably won't need to adjust any permissions (but we'll see!). This can be caused by the site using weak encryption, or if there is are images in the page retrieved using an HTTP address.
