I would suggest you do a scan as it seems your saying you have a quantity of these things and it sounds like they are not associated to the same website that your using.

As to getting out of these websites. You should not be in them if have proper protection and a real time malware scanner.

If these are associated to a URL click on the information circle at the left end of the Address Bar and see what permissions are being granted.

Again, this is not a usual occurrence and is not the experience other users are having so please do a malware scan as it is different than a virus scan.

You didn't answer my question. My question was [edited for clarity] "My request is how do I permanently turn off the http basic authentication dialog prompt box mechanism. Is there some kind of custom JavaScript I can use in the Firefox dir? An about:config change?". I am talking about the basic http authentication prompt dialog box. This dialog box appears most commonly with older or mis-configured Apache server setups, although modern Apache can still do this, it's considered bad form to leave this authentication method active. I only get this prompt about once a month. Coming from Linux, I never saw one in 20 years and once a month on Windows is a lot to me, maybe not to other people, but to me it is.

A simple direct answer to what you want with out saying much is You Do Not. Use Adblockers to block them. Use the Address Bar Info to disallow if permissions are there. Block them in Permissions in Options, Block their cookies in Options. Learn, as your asking for a oxymoron of operation of a browser in Windows .

Your using Windows 10, not Linux, please adjust to the complicated and extremely polluted life of running Win 10 without using proper tools :
