I've installed 4.0.1 and now everythime I start Firefox I have to go into the proxy settings and change to no proxy to view sites. What do I need to do make no proxy the default setting?
Here is the error message I get each time I open Firefox
The proxy server is refusing connections.
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. Check proxy settings to make sure they are correct. Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working

Yep. I've gone into the .js files to edit them taking out the network proxy lines, setting type to 0, and saving the new versions (of course, saving backup files named differently). No effect at all. Does anyone know if the proxy settings in the files that Firefox 4.0.1 uses has any relation to the registry in Windows or another file that it draws these parameters from? Regardless of what I manipulate, the pref.js file still contains proxy settings to 127.0.0.1 (and that is even though I edit the file to completely remove that line and the port setting line from the .js file altogether. Where is it getting the replacement for these lines?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
