Roadrunner recommends NOT using Proxy Servers. Will "disabling Proxies" affect my Firefox?
Changing from AT&T to Roadrunner, says ........ Proxy Servers - A proxy server lies in between your computer and the Internet. When you request a web page or other Internet content through your computer, you connect to your proxy. The proxy then requests the web page or content you're searching for on your behalf and returns it to you. The proxy's actions are carried out automatically and are invisible to you. A proxy is useful for filtering Internet content, connecting to the Internet through firewalls, and archiving web pages for quicker retrieval by users connected to it.
Road Runner does not support the use of proxy servers, and recommends that you disable proxies through your browser.

Most people do not use a proxy server, so if you want to set "No proxy" that's usually fine. If you don't do anything, Firefox generally will follow your system settings, i.e., the proxy settings used by Internet Explorer.
Firefox's setting is here:
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > Network > "Settings..." button
