YouTube ad page appears when opening Firefox and does not allow bookmark search.
Whenever I open Firefox for the first time a window appears with an ad for YouTube asking me to register. When this as window is open there are no header features like URL, toolbar, back arrow, etc. None of the pull down menus will operate. So the only way to proceed is to first close the YouTube window. This window will also suddenly appear and replace the website window I am visiting. There is no way to return to the site I was on except to close the YouTube window and return to the original website via the Bookmarks menu. I have taken a screen shot of this annoying widow which you can download here:

I would appreciate it if you could help me to get rid of this very annoying ad.

You're using an old unsupported versions of Firefox. Update to Firefox 3.6.24.
I will upgrade to 3.6 as you suggest, but I doubt if the version being used has anything to do with this annoying YouTube popup.
I have all popups blocked in Preferences and I have Firefox set to open top a blank page at startup.
Thanks for the reply. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have upgraded to 3.6 as suggested, but the problem continues. I get the YouTube page with no back arrow or other header features. This annoying page just takes over from the site I'm visiting causing me to go back to bookmarks and revisit the original page. Has no one else had this problem?
