I'm being redirected to websites other than the ones I put in the address bar or click on at Google.
The URL's I click on/type in the address bar are many times being redirected to other sites, mostly http://www.microsoft.com/windows/about/customizelinks.mspx or the URL for my Hotmail account.
This has just begun happening in the past week or so. A longer-term problem is redirection to other sites when clicking on links on Google. Sometimes a double click will prevent this from happening on Google, sometimes not.
Any help greatly appreciated!

This may be caused by malware. try running several malware scanners, you need to run sveeral as each one may pick up things the others miss. You can try the following scanners:
Your plugins list shows outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.
- Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53
- Java Plug-in 1.6.0_05 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)
Update the Java plugin to the latest version.
- http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp#jdk (you need JRE)
Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.
Apologies for my tardy Thank You! I already had Malwarebytes and now have downloaded the other three recommended ones. Problem seems to have subsided. I will also try the other three....Windows Defender, updating the Java plugin, and updating the Flash plugin.
