Double-clicking sometimes opens a bookmark page
Hello at Mozilla Support,
I'm having this issue where sometimes, when I double-click to download a link or open a downloads item, it opens the same bookmark page instead. This is the page, and not sure if it's alphabetical, since this pages starts with an 'a' "https://authorspublish.com/#optin" Wondering how I can get this to stop changing the page I am on and opening the bookmark.
Thanks, Sonya

When you click (single-click) a download on the downloads list, Firefox may open it in a tab (if it's a PDF or image, for example) or may open it in an external application (if it's a Word/Excel/PowerPoint, for example).
If you double-click a download, the second click may go to whatever was behind the list instead of being ignored. I wonder whether that is what is happening?

Hi Sonya, could you describe in more detail where you are clicking (or double-clicking)? Is it the drop-down from the Downloads toolbar button, or in the separate Downloads window (Ctrl+J), or is it a link in a web page displayed in the current tab?
Quote: I double-click to download a link or open a downloads item
Where you you clicking ? Is this a link on a webpage or a history link (history menu or sidebar)?
It seems to be if I double-click in the downloads window box that opens when I try and open a downloaded item. I might happen at other times, but I know for sure it happens doing this.

Oh, yes, I think that's it. I see those bookmarks on the top bar of my browser. I don't think those used to be there in the past, since I didn't have this problem in the past. Is there some way to take those bookmark links of the top bar?
You can hide the Bookmarks Toolbar except on new tabs, if that would be useful. More details on that configuration in this article: Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window.
Thank you so much for all your help.
Keep in mind that if you hide the Bookmarks Toolbar then you may end up with clicking on a webpage instead.
Thanks. I will. But at least now I know why it's doing it and not some kind of virus on my system. Thank you for the help.
