After installing Firefox 4, I can't find "Organise Bookmark" under the "Bookmarks", so I can't do backup of my bookmark. Any help?
I have just installed Firefox 4 today, I have found that the drop-down list of "Bookmarks" does not include "Organise Bookmarks", so I cannot backup my Bookmarks. Have this function be changed in Firefox 4? Please advise.

Hit Ctrl+Shift+H. You'll see the History manager, and on the top strip you'll see the option to backup your bookmarks.
If you wish to open the Organise Bookmarks dialog, you may do so using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B.

Yes, I have found "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4 = "Organize Bookmarks" prior FF4.
I have no idea why this name has to be changed. It is confusing. Can anyone tell the advantages of having the new name?
Any way, many thanks for the information.
Yes, I got it. Thanks.
mozilla people - just rename it back to 'organise bookmarks'.
if it aint broke.....
I found the Show all bookmarks and it opened my saved bookmarks list. Although, many of my bookmarks are missing. Anybody have this problem or know a solution?
I find it really confusing that it's renamed.
I mean, the activity I _want_ is to Manage/Organize my book marks. I don't choose this options because I want to show all book marks.
So... GUI guys at Mozilla: What does the user want? He wants to manage/organize his book marks. ... and ...yes... in order to DO that, he need to see them all, but it's not the main reason, and it's not an action that the user is looking for.
I really looked for the book mark organizer, and I found the answer to where it had gone here... Very confusing indeed....

Completely agree. I do not have a big enough screen to 'Show all bookmarks', but I would love to Manage or Organise them, by opening a tool that lets me select the parts I want to organise / manage!
Well, thankfully this works... but it's sure not intuitive when you're used to seeing an easy-to-access link under the Bookmarks menu!
Boo for you, Firefox 4 designers!
This doesn't work the same for me. I see a side menu on the left hand side of my screen, not the separate Library window with it's own set of menus and commands that I am used to and like so much. Not a good substitute, IMHO, bad move by the Firefox 4 designers.
This seems rather like reinventing the wheel. 'Organize bookmarks' was a logical description of the job I wanted to do. 'Show all bookmarks' certainly shows them all but it isn't an intuitive description of the facility it leads you to i.e. to sort out and organize your bookmarks. In fact, if you had just kept 'Organize bookmarks' then, logically, it would mean (and did mean) that you would also see them all. Seeing all the bookmarks is a necessary but subsidiary precursor to organizing them, which is the whole point of seeing them all in the first place. I don't wish to admire them, run my fingers through their hair and whisper sweet nothings to them - I just want to sort them out. Come on Firefox, you're usually so brilliant at this, let's not get silly :-)
THIS IS REALLY POOR SOFTWARE DESIGN.... The new name is UNHELPFUL and UNINTUITIVE does not do what it says on the TIN.
What was wrong with Organize Bookmarks ?? I am a PC Doctor / Teacher, have many newbie users having many difficulties with new version of Firefox 4, in its attempt to be Opera.
Will be switching back to FF3.6 until FF4 becomes USER-FRIENDLY !!!
Guys,.... Think about your Users please. As a software developer I know WTF i'm talking about
Hey Christian-Anderson man, i agree with you totally.
Is there anywhere to post BUG REPORTS on FIrefox ?
I THink this is such a DESIGN FAULT, it should be reported,,.... along with the others i'm finding.
(BOOKMARK THIS TAB -0-- GONE from the context menu),...
New version is supposed to be PROGRESSIVE not REGRESSIVE,.... FF4 is pants in many ways

- "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
- "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
I want to sort my bookmarks but there is no way of saving what I have done, and it is just the same when I go back to my bookmarks. Come back "Organise Bookmarks". Reverting to 3.6 right now!!
The Library window in Firefox 4.0 works no differently that it did in Firefox 3.6 or 3.5 or 3.0, only the name of the Bookmarks menu item was changed. I have never seen an official explanation for the change from Organize Bookmarks to Show All Bookmarks, but I have seen two speculative answers posted by other users.
1. Show All Bookmarks opens the Library window, like Show All History does.
= an "anal retentive" or OCD change, with regards to Show All ...
2. As YorkshireAlan pointed out, when you "sort" bookmarks in the Library window those changes aren't permanent, as soon as you close the Library window that "sort" order is gone = it's a temporary sort order for that window for only as long as it is open. The Bookmarks drop-down and the Bookmarks Sidebar sort order isn't affected at all by that "sort", even as long as the Library window remains open.
IMO, Organize Bookmarks didn't really organize bookmarks, thus that menu item was incorrectly named thru Firefox 3.0, 3.5, & 3.6 versions and Firefox 4.0 corrected that error.
That button that has the Sort sub menu is labeled as Views and that is what it is meant for. You can see the bookmarks and History in an other sort order without changing or corrupting your data. It is the same as clicking the header bar to sort by a specific column. Other programs like Windows Explorer act similar if you click the header bar to sort the data by that column. If you actually want to sort the bookmarks then use the right-click context menu on a folder to "Sort By Name".
Stupid rename.
Thanks mate
