missing minimize/maximize/close icons from hyperlinks in OE
http://runasxp.com/Thread-Firefox-and-links-from-OE?pid=6437#pid6437 has most of the info.
I posted a long question in here and it was gone before I managed to copy it to the clipboard. Firefox works fine when I open it as normal. It works fine when I have it opened previously and click on a hyperlink from Outlook Express 6. However, if I open a hyperlink from Outlook Express 6 (created for Windows 8.1) the Firefox browser opens but is missing the icons in the upper right... minimize/ maximize/close .
Running Windows 8.1 PRO (as well as Windows XP when dual booted). Firefox is updated to build 37.0.2 Outlook Express is re-designed to work with Windows 7 and above and does a great job working just like the original Outlook Express with the same .dbx databases, so I can download the mail from my multiple accounts to the drive and folder(s) where they are stored in the XP version and when I boot back into XP and open OE there are all the emails and the current ones I downloaded from OE when running in Windows 8.1

This is a cropped screensave of what I am getting. Also I did not mention that I have another email client called POP Peeper that works very well in XP, 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows 10. If I click on a hyperlink from that program when it fetches the email to view, I get a normal Firefox browser window. ALL icons are in the upper right. Hyperlink starts Firefox and goes to the URL addressed in the hyperlink.

If you use a non standard windows theme or made other appearance changes then try to revert those changes and use a (different) standard theme or Windows wallpaper.
- Control Panel > Personalization > Theme & Window Color and Appearance
I notice a Flash has crashed notification bar.
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
