VUDU video error 3321 from Firefox 31 but not in IE11
I watch videos from Netflix, Amazon and VUDU in the Ultra Violet site. When talking to VUDU tech support we discovered that my hardware will not support HDX. The flash player, most current, is supposed to ask to revert to SD to play a movie. This works in IE11 but not in Firefox 31. Just before the playback of the movie in Firefox within the blank Flash screen a Buffering icon is displayed. In IE11 this is also the case. IE11 the displays the message that the movie must be played in SD and gives a button to select SD. In Firefox the buffering icon just becomes an error message that says Authentication problem error code 3321. Tech support for VUDU says it is a Firefox issue with Flash player. Please indicate if this is a known issue or is there a fix. I have run Firefox in safe mode and still get the error.

HI bmazak, The two sites you mentioned used silverlight when I watched videos. Have you tried to set the plugin to "always ask" or disabled to see if another player gives the same error?
Vudu does use flash, ok and this is the error: Authentication problem error code 3321
Is that a DRM authentication code? http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46...
Found it: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1277138 It is a security issue
"by a temporary network connection failure. To verify: use the browser and connect to http://individualization.adobe.com/flashaccess/i15n/v5 . View the page source. If everything is fine you will see something like:"
Check to make sure proxy and firewalls allow the connection that the vudu site is trying to make.
I hope this helps.
I added The adobe site to Vipre firewall and used Firefox to visit the v5.htm page. It display a blank page and I still get the 3321 error in VUDU. Adobe has been unresponsive and also in the past with regards to CNN video not playing. Is it possible to Sue Adobe for blocking my purchased content.
I just read about FireFox not being easy with DRM. Man I am with you on this. We users of video wondering what the hell is going on with the people who are trying to protect the content. To me it is simple. I buy it it is mine. I don't need a lic just a receipt. No one keeps it in their repository to resell it to me later. I don't rent it, I own it. It's on my PC and it is none of anybodies business what movies I have on my PC. Other than illegal stuff and you need a search warrant and a really good reason to even think I have something illegal on my PCs or Phone. Stop acting like Natzs and leave us alone.
Searched for if they need a search warrant for a computer search, in the US apparently then do http://curiosity.discovery.com/questi.../government-need-warrant-search-computer, but I am not a lawyer.
It was blank for me as well. After the change to your firewall did you clear the cache/ reload the page? Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:
- Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.
OR
- Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
- Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)
Let us know if this solves the issues you are having.
No that did not help, still blank. I did go to the link to Adobe Flash error code 3321 though. I am currently trying things with Adobe. Here is the link if you would like to follow it. https://forums.adobe.com/message/6661365#6661365 What I have seen from this exercise so far is the Flash test site is getting authentication error 3321 for the test web site then when the get is issued for the Licenses an error "Can't access local storage" code 2134 is being created. Do you know of any Windows 7 Services that would create this if they are not starting at boot? IF it helps I have a PCIe Nvidia GeForce 8600 GS 340.52 driver version with a Princeton VL1918 monitor. Since Flash is integrated into Firefox I would like to know where Flash is trying to access local storage. Maybe some properties or permissions need to be changed.
Hi bmazak, That place can be accessed by right clicking on a flash plugin and selecting "Global Settings". I believe it is in the storage tab.
You see the problem with settings or global settings is they will not change. I change the setting to unlimited in the storage tab and click the close button, then right click again and it is back to none. Same for global settings they will not change. I fixed the storage error by doing a reboot after the flash uninstall and installing again. No instructions from Adobe to do that. But the 3321 is still an error. Again if it only happens in Firefox and not IE then it is a Firefox problem.
Right, so troubleshooting the Flash and Firefox combination with the vudu website would be ideal. It is strange that the settings are not changing. Thank you for posting what you did to fix the error. I will make a note for how to reinstall an add on/extension.
Again thank you.
