Version 78 no calendar
Hi Guys
My Thunderbird was updated to version 78 64 bit and the calendar has stopped working. Lightning has vanished?
Will things (lightning etc ) update automatically in the next few days or have I jumped to early?
Many thanks
Paul

The calendar is integrated in Thunderbird 78, so lightning will obviously not only not appear, it will not install. On a similar note PGP/Enigmail is also integrated but will not be available for some time (months) so Enigmail users will not be automatically updated.
Thunderbird 78 has not yet been released, although release is imminent. This week I expect, so I would have to ask where you got V78 to install at all. Or have you installed a beta version?
Note going back to V68 is not really an option as your contact will not make the round trip with you.

Can't proof if this is true or not but obviously there are no visible options to view this "integrated" calendar.
It would be a good idea to make this calendar more accessable and the information policy what's going on a bit more user friendly.
Were you using the provider for Google calendar add-on? It has no yet been updated for V78 so it would explain why your calendar is not actually working as you might expect. But that should not remove the calendar icons on the top of the windows, the today pane on the status bar or the integrated invitation handling.
