Meaning of status bar messages
Hi, we have recently moved our website to a new host. I see VERY long delays - up to 25 sec! - with the main page loading, and 16 sec on sub-pages, so it's not a main page size issue.
I am trying to supply data to the web host provider. When I type the URL in the Firefox address bar, e.g., foo.com, the status bar literally says foo.com for up to 25 seconds, followed by "transferring data" (can't read the rest of the line), then the page loads immediately.
A similar delay of 16 sec occurred in Chrome earlier today, so I don't think it's a Firefox issue.
I am trying to understand what the status bar messages Firefox is presenting. I don't think it's DNS because ping resolves in 106 ms. Site monitoring tools might be useful, but they just spot-check. Tool suggestions appreciated.
If you've read this far, the actual domain is cleanscape.net. Thank you!

The Network Monitor shows for me about 5 s Waiting time and Downloaded: 5.33 s for the main file and finish 11.07 s.
Thank you for your reply! I will use that tool over next few days to monitor the website and hopefully the web host. What I've seen is, they make a correction, then a day or two later it goes back to the very long delay.
Since you are the mod, can you also let me know what the Firefox status messages mean, or point me to a support page that I can read up on them?
