Starting late yesterday I began to get this error - Login to server outlook.office365.com with username [email protected] failed. I can login directly to the office365 site, and can also receive mail via my iPhone via the Apple Mail app. I am using TB 68.1.2 (32-bit). From the troubleshooting page in TB --

account3 (imap) outlook.office365.com:993 SSL/TLS Normal password smtp.office365.com:587 STARTTLS Normal password true

Can someone let me know the best next steps to resolve this?

Chosen solution

Deleted the account, re-added it, now it is working. Something must have been corrupted is all I can think of...

works for me. Did you perhaps enable two factor authentication and forget to create an application password for Thunderbird to use?

No I did not. Tb stopped working but iPhone and web are fine, just username and pw not 2 factor

caught up in the North American issues perhaps? https://status.azure.com/en-us/status/history/

No - remember it is working on 2 other devices. Oh, and TB on my Mac is working fine too....

If the accounts are accessible on other devices and with TB on other computers, there must be something unique about the non-working setup. Start Windows in safe mode and run TB to see if there's a startup program, e.g. AV, interfering with TB.
