I first tried Vertical toolbar that popped up in the search list. It enabled but the developer said this wasn't necessary anymore, and redirected me with a link. It had a Mozilla add-on that I clicked. It said you had to restart...after restart it continues to say it will enable after restart. I even updated Firefox to a new version. I'm stuck. Other add-on's cannot be enabled until I can get rid of this one. Just to be clear, there are NO BUTTONS to say remove or disable, only links to say restart to enable and undo. Undo does NOTHING. Restart to enable does NOTHING. Perhaps associated with this is the fact that my previously installed Roomy Toolbar Addon stopped working which is why I tried installing these instead. Help would be appreciated.

Chosen solution

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.

If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

HI Thom473, Last resort you can save the parts of the profile that is not corrupt with a new profile Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles and with these instructions: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

However since the developer gave these instructions I am guessing that they would be the best person to ask.
