Websites not loading properly or at all and getting worse
Is there a way to revert back to a version of Firefox that doesn't use Quantum? Ever since this fail of an experiment has been released, it has been nothing but problems when trying to load web pages. After this most recent update, the problem has gotten worse.
I load a page and there is just nothing there. It started with eBay pages not loading images and if I tried to load more than one eBay page, the entire site would crash on me and I would have to close FF to get them to load properly again.
The included image is a gallery site I frequent and it was fine until this recent update, now this is all I get, a blank screen. I can mouse over the page and get the hand showing there is something to click, but there is nothing there. Sometimes images will pop up on mouse-over, but then disappear again once the mouse moves.
This is becoming very frustrating and I'm seriously starting to consider jumping over to Chrome.

If this fixes the issue; It appears to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off ClearType font rendering within their windows settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn ClearType back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: Firefox's performance settings How to Tweak ClearType in Windows for Better Screen {web link}

Sure : Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 and below is no longer safe to use for every day use do to secuity issues, but 52.7.2 ESR. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: *https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after June 2018.
You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because:

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Hi cujoe_da_man, sorry for the inconvenience.
On the partial content display, hopefully the above reply will provide a temporary workaround until Firefox 59.0.2 is released with a permanent fix. If you find that disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox does not fix the missing content issue, then we need to find out more to figure out what causes it.

When you say the site crashed, what happened? Did you get the "Gah, your tab crashed" error page?

It seems as if it was the Cleartype being turned off, I never knew that was even a thing before. I also zoomed in and out and found that the web pages would be normal at 90% and 110%, but then be blank at 100 % (before I checked the ClearType). I'll keep an eye on it and see if it stays that way.

Got it, forgot to do that as I was typing my reply :D
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
Note that Firefox 59.0.2 should have a fix for this issue.

I shall have to test it later, I didn't get the usual "restart Firefox" for this update, so I didn't know it was a thing. I don't care for ClearType because no matter how I set it up, some text always gets a nasty rainbow hue around the edges and it just bugs me.
