Thunderbird is trying to access an old email account I haven't used for years. But today I am getting the following error message: Login to server pop3(old email address) with username XXXX failed. The error message keeps popping up as long as Thunderbird is open. And as long as an error message is running, I can't send an email. How can I delete the old email account so I won't get the error message any more? Thanks. If you respond by email, my current email is [email protected] The old one was rvoget@w-link.net

Chosen solution

go to tools>accountsettings. Highlight the account and slightly below in left column is a menu called 'account actions.' click that and an option is 'delete account.'

I followed the chosen solution above, which seems to have deleted the old email account (@iinet.net.au) But it has also deleted all of my aussiebb sub-folders which contained information (such as tax data) which I need. How can I recover these sub-folders?
