Delete your Old Profile and Create New profile..

  • Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  • In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  • From that explorer window, right click on the "Mozilla Folder" click "Rename", and rename the folder to "Mozilla.Old". Hang onto this folder, it will be important later.
  • Reopen Firefox. It should create a new Mozilla Folder with a new profile in it.
  • Now read Recovering important data from an old profile and transfer your data from your old profile (the mozilla.old folder) to your new one.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
