I grabbed the files needed to save passwords and bookmarks (cert8.db, cookies.sqlite, key3.db, permissions.sqlite, places.sqlite, signons.sqlite). I went to download but could not find where they went. No folder seemed to have profiles.

Where do they go?

Have you opened Firefox up on your new computer yet? It won't generate a new profile until you open it. The New profile it will create will be in APPDATA (Type %APPDATA% into your start menu and hit Enter, then go to Mozilla, Firefox, profiles, they will be in there).

Yes, been using the new computer for a few weeks. Will do as you said, copy over the files, then let you know how it went. May be a few days...

Thank you

%APPDATA% shows no search results. So I went to computer, program files (x86), Mozilla Firefox and there is no profiles folder.

The profile folder isn't in the program files folder. Just opening your Start menu and typing %APPDATA% and pressing enter should take you to the app data folder. It lives in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming

Now that's strange. This time it came up and I see the profile folder. So I ut those 7 files in the folder and restart Firefox? Details tomorrow (I have to FTP the files over again).

Make sure Firefox isn't open when you move the files over, but yes, you should just b able to copy and paste them. (don't you have a flash drive or something a bit faster and easier than FTP?

Thanks. FTP is just as fast to me or maybe I'm just used to it. Flash will help if I delete by accident *blush*

Copied to flash drive. In a folder on my desktop now. Will close Firefox, move them over, open Firefox and post the results.

Most site passes had to be reset. Will visit more sites to see if this continues.
