why is Google on opening screen? I'm on the firefox site, want to search with it

When I press new tab, screen opens with Google as search, even though I'm in FF. In all honesty, the get started function is the worst I've ever seen. Where is drop down menu for extensions?

Hi drtaylor010, Mozilla does not operate a Firefox-branded search engine. You can choose something other than Google using the Default search engine setting, and there are add-on search engines for other sites.

As a starting point:

Where is drop down menu for extensions?

Extensions are managed through the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

This list has your currently installed extensions, as well as recommendations (mostly popular extensions).
