Enter https://www.facebook.com/deus.mentula/videos/1158852834263724/ into https://getvideo.at/en/ and select Dash_HD. It generates a file "Nike ad fixed by Grant J. Kidney..mp4" which is downloaded correctly by Edge and Chrome, but nothing is downloaded via Firefox. Downloads are set for the "Downloads" folder and MP4 is set to Save in Applications.

go to options > applications > video podcast > and choose and set it to what you want.

Thanks, but ".MP4" is already set to "Save". Apparently Firefox doesn't know what to do with "..MP4", or maybe it's the other dot in the filename. Did you feed the Facebook file I sent through getvideo.at to see if Firefox works for you?

it work fine with me, try to re-install firefox OR refreshing it,

see this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings#

OK, I refreshed. Now I can't use FireFox for Gmail, I get a message "The owner of gmail.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website." And there's no "Click here to connect anyway". So Firefox is pretty much useless?

OK, maybe Google doesn't know how to configure websites, or more likely, Firefox is warning about problems which don't exist. Maybe I'll try uninstall/ reinstall, but for now I'll stay with Chrome or Edge.

OK, uninstalled/re-installed Firefox, same problem. Ask for help on web, then shut down Adguard, and the problem with Gmail went away. But getvideo.at still shows a problem, so I'm still back to Chrome

Why does that site use double dots for that file?

Is that a fault in the server which is delivering that file or a file posted improperly by "Grant" when he fixed it?

If you're asking me, I have no idea. This is the first time (of many) thatI noticed the problem. If Mozilla has a problem with double dots or three dots in the file name, I hope they can resolve the issue. I'm obviously not being harmed by the issue, just thought it was worth reporting.
