For a week, my Browser has been acting strange.

When my computer, an HP Pavilion g6 laptop, is idle, a grey-blue bar will come up on the top of the screen, listing the website I am on. It will not disappear until I click the screen, or move my arrow up to the top. It does it almost every time I log back in, plus it interferes with videos playing.

When my videos are playing full screen, the bar which shows the amount of minutes the video is will come up briefly, then go down. It does this all by itself. The performance of my PC is not affected, but this matter is annoying.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I have done troubleshooting and then reset it to the default. It still does it.

I have done full scans on my PC for malware and viruses, and all is clean.

I am confused about this...please help!

Does this help? Hide Tab Bar W/ one tab

I tried that, but it didn't seem to work.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't have anyway, for I use at least 3 tabs at once.

Thank you, though~

I have included a screenshot below if it helps!

Just to clarify something: Does it occur if you just leave the computer "idle" for a few minutes, or is it after Windows was locked and you entered your password to unlock it, or after Windows was in sleep mode and you woke it up?

Does it happen when Firefox was not in full screen mode before it became idle/locked/slept, or only when Firefox was in full screen mode?

Curious, Are you running Firefox v30?

Yes!

I updated to Version 30.0 around a month or two ago, and all has been fine until this past week~

It happens after the computer is idle, and also after I shut it down every night, and log in to Windows the next day. I let my PC sleep, I don't physically shut it down completely. I just shut the lid, basically.

I never run a browser without full screen if at all possible, but when I have run FF without it, it seems okay, really.

It just seems to be a full-screen issue.

Look at your toolbars that are open. I think that's the problem, If not, Have you tried to start Firefox in safe mode? If it isn't there in safe mode, its and addon messing around. Enable them one by one to find out which. Hope this helps :)

Okay, I checked the toolbar extensions, and there were some things that actually weren't enabled, so I enabled them.

I have had AdBlock for a long time, and it has caused no issues, so I left it. I did enable my Kaspersky Anti-Banner, though. I'll see if that helps.

I'll let you know. Thank you for your patience!

I think there was a round of Windows updates recently. Perhaps something has changed and Firefox is a little confused about whether it should be showing the title bar -- and when you click it it remembers that it is indeed in full screen mode.

Wow. I never considered that!

My computer often goes through phases where I think something is really wrong with it, and this goes on for months, with all sorts of things on other browsers, and I freak. But, they have always gone away. It may take awhile, but that happens.

I appreciate your reply, and I will keep that in mind! :)
