Firefox version 132.0.1 Thunderbird version 128.4.0esr O/S: PCLinuxOS Debian Edition (Debian 12 Bookworm) with KDE 5
I am getting a "Click" sound effect when I click Menu Bar items in both Firefox and Thunderbird, Bookmarks in Firefox, Folders in Thunderbird and some other items in both. I can not find a way to turn it off. It does not happen in any other applications, including other web browsers that are forked from Firefox, so I think it is a Mozilla problem.
This is a relatively new installation that was set up copying settings from Firefox on Windows 10 using Firefox Sync. I did not copy anything from Windows Thunderbird because my email is IMAP which brings in everything from the server. I am not getting this clicking sound in Windows Firefox and Thunderbird.
I am GUESSING that the sound effect is due to an Accessibility setting that is buried somewhere, maybe in one of the text-based "about...." configuration files, but I don't know where to look. I have gone through the Linux KDE System Settings and the Settings in Firefox and Thunderbird several times trying to find it. I will note that I set up Firefox and Thunderbird in the same Linux distro on a laptop also using Firefox Sync and do not have this problem with the laptop. Can anyone tell me where to look to get rid of this irritating noise?
Thank You!

I see this as a performance problem, and one that I'd hoped would be solved by now, since others brought it up in an Apple Forum.
When using iCloud Notes, the list always used to have empty circles/radio buttons to click on when done. They have all become black squares instead. Apparently this happened, according to a poster, with version 131.0. If so, it is still a problem with version 132.0.2, which I currently have.
Please see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255794426?sortBy=rank where this appears in the Apple Forum.

Hello,
For years I've been able to watch a video in one tab and open a new tab. I could hear the video playing while I opened a new tab. Suddenly today the video pauses as soon as I click away to a NEW tab.
Oddly enough, if I have any other tabs already opened, when I first click on one of those, I can then open a new tab without the video pausing. It's only if I go directly from a YouTube video (that's already playing) that it pauses when trying to open a new tab. Odd.
Why is this happening? and so suddenly? At least I have a work around but this is so weird.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks, Andre'a
BTW - Is "Settings" the best topic? or should I've chosen something else (like Performance)?

Sometimes, when I copy and paste a Youtube link into Firefox or I open a Youtube video in a new tab, the video player won't load. Sometimes it's fixed when I reload the page, other times it can only be fixed if I open a new Youtube tab and paste the name of the youtube video in.
Notes: - Tested in privacy browser with only Ublock origin active (no other extensions), did not appear to have this problem (It's a bit difficult to test since it only comes up sometimes with opening Youtube in background tabs/copying and pasting a youtube video)
- Something I noticed: video player appears to load a lot faster in privacy browser. - However, turned off all extensions and themes in non-privacy browser and still had the issue - Youtube pages load in the background of privacy browser, but in the normal browser I have to click on them to load
- Turned off hardware acceleration, didn't change anything - Tried troubleshoot mode, doesn't look like the issue is still there? But confused on why the issue still happens when I turn all extensions off not in troubleshoot mode
Wondering if it's an about:config issue? I don't think I changed anything in there, though.

I'm running Windows 10 and Firefox with latest updates. With Firefox closed, when I right click on Firefox icon and select Open New Window a previous session window with whatever tabs were open is opened. This happens even if in the previous session I opened a new window, then closed all other windows, and then closed the single tab new window. This seems to have begun happening about 2 or 3 updates ago.

FF v132.0.2 (64-bit). We utilize Sharepoint/Microsoft 365, and since switching to Firefox, the zoom controls normally located in the lower righthand corner for Excel spreadsheets is just gone. This is with extensions disabled, even tried Private View. Chrome properly shows it.
Screenshots attached showing Firefox/Chrome. That basically eliminates our ability to use FireFox if that's the case since there's no other way to do it.

This is a hail Mary. Microsoft changed the behavior of Windows, supposedly for security, so that clicking the Firefox button to make it the default web browser is no longer allowed. Instead, I get taken to the default apps section of Settings, where the only choices are Edge and Internet Explorer. No Firefox. Same with images and with video. Microsoft is not helping with this and I'm damned if I'm wading through probably a hundred or so file extensions changing each one individually. Somebody else must have run across this problem and maybe solved it?

When I open multiple tabs at once the tabs freeze up when trying to load and already opened tabs freeze and anything streaming also freeze. It takes tons of time to load multiple tabs and even sometimes single tabs depending on the website. This never happened with Chrome and I understand Firefox is not as refined as Chrome and is far younger than Chrome is but I feel like it shouldn't be this bad. Is there any settings maybe or maybe settings/preferences in the config area area that might help with faster performance and increased multitasking ability in the Firefox browser?
I have tried
1. Updating Firefox - I am running the most up to date version 2. Updating Graphics Drivers- I am running the most up to date drivers(Updated yesterday 11/17/2024 3. Deleting Cache/History/Logs 4. removed or disables unneeded extensions that I don't use every day and only activate when I need them.
None of this has worked to increase performance.
P.S. I would also like to fix the problem where firefox is using too much RAM if possible.
