I live in Texas, My IP address is in Virginia and then California, what does this means?
I did a search on my mobile devices and my IP addresses are in different states. Virginia, and when I searched my location, it showed a white house in Santa Clara California. I never been to California and reside in Texas. When I searched for retail or restaurants in my area... It is showing me places in Virginia. What does this means?

Did you try a site like:
That shows data from a number of different providers that try to map IP addresses to particular locations. They don't always agree, but considering the distance between Virginia and Silicon Valley, your results are very odd.
If you use a private VPN service, Hola, or Tor, that will change the IP address sent to websites and possibly randomize it a bit.

Thank you so much for the information jscher2000. Allow me to ask you this... if one is using a goggle voice number link to iphones would this perhaps create such "odd" IP addresses? Fearful my cell phone has been hacked!
Thanks in advance Msde
I don't know how Google Voice works, but if you are just browsing the web (not making or taking a call), I don't think it comes into play.
