Hi All, When starting firefox our users are getting prompted for proxy credentials. The default home page is a static intranet page that does NOT require any authentication (NTML etc).

How can we stop firefox prompting for credentials? (IE and Chrome don't prompt on startup on the same page, but do when you navigate away).

We are using version 40.0.2

Thanks.

Did you check the settings?

  • Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network: Connection -> Settings:

"Do not prompt for authentication if password is saved"

You can also check the signon.autologin.proxy pref on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Thanks for your response, the pref signon.autologin.proxy was set to true. I changed it to false, but it didn't make any difference.

We can't set the do not prompt as they are shared computers at a reception desk, and the users have their own usernames and passwords for the proxy.

I just changed the default page to be blank, and still got the prompt when I opened firefox.

Thanks for any other suggestions.
