When will Firefox reintroduce the profile manager back into the browser proper? I store my profiles into a network drive that I can access from many machines!

The thing is that with the old Netscape browser it was incredibly easy to import an existing profile.

At the very least, Firefox should manage profiles like Thunderbird, with an account settings option under Tools.

Using Firefox -c ( or whatever ) on the command line is just a pain and it's too easy to screw up.

Firefox has never had a user interface for the built in Profile Manager, as Netscape had. Nothing related to the Profile Manager has been removed, yet.
Firefox users have always needed to use command line options like -P or -ProfileManager to launch the Profile Manager; or they installed an extension to open a different Profile from within Firefox.

Now, maybe you have seen the Mozilla Labs project Profile Manager XUL Runner application?

That was developed in advance of the time when the existing Profile Manager UI is removed from Firefox, to allow advanced users a method of using multiple Profiles in Firefox.
