When typing in any field on twitter.com I have to wait a good 30 seconds for my full text to show up, extreme slow motion, rendering it completely unusable. I've cleared cache etc but nothing has worked, and it's only for this one site! Everything else on the site seems to run slowly as well, (right clicking on links, following people, refreshing pages, etc) but really being unable to type in any text field is the killer.

I can't use twitter with Firefox anymore, I'm trying to use Chrome and or Camino, but I love Firefox nothing is nearly as great and am so sad I can't use it!!! :'( Can anyone help?

Twitter seems to use JavaScript to calculate the character count and that script is causing problems.

See http://miloping.com/content/2009/05/1/twitters-char-counter-js-obtrusively-slow Twitter's char counter JS is obtrusively slow | Miloping

Firefox is painfully slow when typing an entry at twitter.com (one character per second):
/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=1...

I'm either not smart enough to understand the fix or it didn't work, lol, in either case thanks for the reply! Aimee

Yes, I agree that it isn't easy and it is possible that that solution isn't working anymore..
Maybe you should contact Twitter and ask them to fix that script, so it won't slow down Firefox anymore.

A possible solution is to disable JavaScript while you are editing on Twitter.
