I am using Firefox 3.6.3 and I have a number of bookmarks set up already. However, there were a number of other bookmarks on another hard drive of mine that crashed. I want to know if it is possible for me to keep all the bookmarks I currently have, but add the bookmarks from the dead hard drive without overwriting anything.

Well, we have a few Knowledge Base articles regarding importing bookmarks that I can refer you to.

Import data from another browser

To be safe, it might be prudent to export your current bookmarks and then import them back into your recovered profile.

Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks

You can only add (append or merge) bookmarks if you import an HTML backup. If you only have a JSON backup on the old drive (e.g. in the bookmarkbackups folder) then you first need to export the current bookmarks to an HTML file Import that HTML backup after you have restored all the bookmarks from that JSON backup to get the old bookmarks back.
