How to delete a certain url from the url bar / inform firefox to forget it
I've looked and looked and there seems to be no solution (none working anyway).
In my case: I'm starting to type 'mailgun'. Now, I've got the old maildun control panel url saved, which is no longer valid (404). So I highlight the one in question (moving there with the arrows keys) and hit delete. Next time it's there, again. I've tried shift-delete, same. Ctrl-delete; same.
I do NOT want to clear the cache, the page is not in the bookmarks (well, no longer there; but it was - maybe it's a clue).
I'm lost as to what to do.
p.s. this isn't the only url that refuses to disappear.
Thanks for any help!

Hi drag this out, go to the site through the url bar then go somewhere else then Click the Forget https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forget-button-quickly-delete-your-browsing-history
Thanks, but I do not want to wipe any amount of history, the aim was to delete a single site. Used to be as simple as hit 'del' (logical solution, too).
Funnily enough, sometimes it works. This time it didn't. However, the next day I started firefox up, and the site was back in bookmarks (I've deleted it the previous day and double- triple-checked it, even restarted firefox).
I've removed it again, and then I could finally get rid of it.
But now all my cached sites are gone! This is a major annoyance.
Firefox you buggy beauty!
